Jane Elizabeth Carter, 92, of Holualoa died June 28 at home. Born in Walla Walla, Wash., she was a homemaker and former business owner. Services held. Survived by husband, James Carter of Holualoa; daughters, Carol (Kirk) Trafficante of Sacramento, Calif., and Karen (Bruce) Nyberg of Felton, Calif.; son, Bob (Sue) Hooson of Leavenworth, Wash.; brother, James (Betty) Haskett of Glenn Eden, Ore.; seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson; nieces and nephews. Aloha Nicolasa Carvalho, 93, of Hawaiian Paradise Park died Jan. 1 at Oahu Care Facility in Honolulu. Born in Waialua, Oahu, she was a retired supervisor and chief admitting officer for the former Hilo Hospital and member and pianist for Olaa First Hawaiian Congregational Church. Visitation 9:30-10:30 a.m. Tuesday (July 7) at Haili Congregational Church. Celebration of life at 10:30 a.m. Graveside service to follow at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No 2, with a celebration luncheon afterward. Aloha attire. Survived by sons, Raymond “Bambino” Godfrey Carvalho II and Mark Anthony (Carrie) Carvalho of Hawaiian Paradise Park; daughter, Maria Vivencia Carvalho of Honolulu; daughter-in-law, Daniela Carvalho of Hawaiian Paradise Park; brother, Ben H. William “Willy” Gomes Sr., 86, of Kailua-Kona died June 24 at home. Born in Hamakua, he was a retired foreman for Huehue Ranch, truck driver for the former Hamakua Sugar Co., and Hawaii rodeo legend. Gene Ichiro Mitsunami, 81, of Waimea died June 28 at home. Born on Kauai, he was a retired Hawaii Electric Light Co. diesel operator. Rab Singh Puri, 75, of Kailua-Kona died June 23 at home. Born in Lahore, Pakistan, he was a retired mechanical engineer for American President Lines and Matson, a life master duplicate bridge player and member of Kona Bridge Club. Born in Honolulu, she was a retired hairdresser, owner of the former Banyan Tree Beauty Salon and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Big Island Ballroom Dancing Club and Divine Divas O Hilo Red Hat Society.
